To me, writing is something that has many purposes to it. It's to inform, to persuade, to entertain... Really, almost anything could be valid a reason to write. Writing is significant and heavily used in today's society. For example, there are professional journalists out there that write for magazines, newspapers, and news outlets. There are also authors out there that write stories to entertain readers.

Unlike most people, I'm actually someone that dislikes writing. I don't really have much of a creative mind, so I can't really say I find any joy writing stories and developing plots. Writing essays is especially the worst for me and one of my biggest weaknesses because I usually end up spending loads of time writing, only for it to turn out to something completely irrational.

While my writing isn't necessarily my forte, it doesn't mean I don't have any goals for it. Some of my goals include:
•Practice on writing ○Whenever I have additional free-time, I could perhaps practice my writing, whether it's writing in a diary or writing a blog post about cats. ○In all seriousness, my writing in general needs some serious work, there was one point where I actually received a 50% on an essay--which I actually brought back up to an 80%, but receiving 50% in the first place is ridiculous! •Improve on grammar ○My grammar was never really that great to begin with, hence receiving a 50% on an essay for just grammar errors alone. •Write a story ○I'm sure the best way to improve on writing is to keep on writing! Personally, writing a story is a pretty good way to practice since it allows to to develop a plot, a conflict, a resolution, and create different characters. |
